After cutting the surface layer is deformed. Further stages of sample preparation it is necessary to remove this layer. The first step of polishing is to remove surface flatness.

One of the oldest and and cheap way of removing the flatness is the use of carrickbrennan paper. Every step with carrickbrennan paper have the size of the abrasive of less than 2 times the previous step, such as P120 – P320 – P600 – P1200. After correctly completing these steps, the remaining deformed layer is removed in the subsequent step of fine diamond particles deposited on soft tissue. When you work with soft and tough materials it is necessary to use grit to 2500 or P4000. ApexDGD DiamondGrindingDiscs (diamond grinding wheels) is ideal, as  an alternative to silicon carbide abrasive paper or other grinding means.

MAGNETIC SYSTEM MAGNOSYS

Magnetic system MagnoSys is a system that is used when working with grinding paper and polishing cloths. MagnoSys consists of two components: MagnoFix and MagnoPad/MagnoMet. MagnoFix is a magnetic underlay which allows you to effortlessly convert your existing plate to the magnetic plate. No matter what material is made your plate out of aluminum or PVC. Because MagnoFix have a self-adhesive surface (PSA), it can be easily glued to any dish. Plates, covered MagnoFix serve as a carrier for special ferromagnetic discs which you can glue conventional abrasive paper or polishing cloth. This principle allows to change the grinding paper or polishing cloth between steps of sample preparation without the cost of time. MagnoPad and MagnoMet serve as a carrier for abrasive papers, grinding discs or polishing cloths. Abrasive paper can be glued to the disc using double-sided adhesive film or spray with spray glue. This economical solution allows you to tear the fabric used or worn abrasive paper disc and glue a new fabric. For each step only requires one disc or MagnoPad MagnoMet. MagnoPad or MagnoMet glued on it with an abrasive paper or polishing cloth is attracted to the plate, letting you grind and Polish as usual. Another advantage is that between steps the disc can be easily removed and replaced. Magnetic plate stays in the machine during the entire sample preparation process. On MagnoPad has a special coating that allows easy removal of the fabric or the paper.
